340B Is Up for Review and Needs Your Help

ahfwebUncategorized

Amid the many issues Congress has on its agenda, 340B is being pushed to the forefront because of the drug industry’s lobbying efforts.

The 340B Drug Pricing Program will be up for review in the U.S. Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing on Thursday, March 15. Advocates for 340B have been going to both congressional offices on Capitol Hill and congressional districts nationwide to remind lawmakers and their staff that 340B works! The 340B program benefits patients and non-profit providers, it costs the taxpayers and government nothing, and greedy drug companies are opposed to it.

We’re asking politicians and policymakers to leave the program alone because it’s working as intended.  The Ryan White Clinics for 340B Access Coalition will be working closely with HELP committee members and their staff to make sure this high profile hearing fairly represents the value of 340B to the U.S. health care system. We all must work together to save this program from attack by the drug industry and its lobbyists for those who depend on the lifesaving health care safety net provided by 340B.
